My name is Lauren.
I’m a lifelong creative who’s happiest outside, an avid reader, and the founder of Great North Exposure… but I wasn’t always an Alaskan business owner. My journey started with a psychology degree in pursuit of a career path that I didn’t take. So I know a thing or two about how the mind works, and also about starting over to chase your dreams.
Our family of five did just that when we relocated from New Jersey to Alaska in 2021. We were drawn to Alaska for the adventure, natural beauty, and access to wilderness, but found something we didn’t know we needed: a resilient, tight knit community that supports each other. We need each other to thrive here, and that spirit is a light throughout the dark winters.
Living in Alaska certainly has unique challenges, and running a business here is no different. I’ve watched amazing local businesses struggle with inadequate creative support in their marketing, resulting in lifeless brands that go unrecognized, and even close their doors, despite providing incredible value through their products and services.
Seeing this disservice, I realized that strategic design and messaging could help transform these businesses that are overlooked, creating a ripple effect that strengthens our entire community. It became my mission to help small business owners get the attention they deserve through carefully crafted branding, stunning photography, and engaging marketing materials. And as it turns out, there’s quite a bit of psychology behind brand strategy.
